Place this tub in your pond and the natural barley straw it contains will help keep the water algae-free. One tub is sufficient to treat up to 2,000 gallons of water, so if you have a larger pond you may need more than one. Barley straw is completely safe for fish and can last up to 6 months depending on the amount of algae you have in your pond. Also, after the barley straw has done its job, the tub can be lifted and used as a planting basket for marginal aquatics at the edges of the pond.
